I have been playing and studying music since the age of fourteen. I approach teaching the same way I approach learning a challenging piece of music or preparing for an important performance: one step at a time, emphasizing practical short-term goals while holding long-term goals in sight. I try to instill the fundamentals of performance in my students at all times: playing with full emotion, accurate rhythm, and great intonation. The material covered in each lesson can be tailored toward the specific goals of the individual student. I am an alumnus of Berklee College of Music (guitar performance) and the University of North Carolina at Asheville (Vocal Performance).
